German Iris

This bearded Iris is printed with professional quality ink on natural off white lokta paper.

I saw these lovely white irises along the road in Arkansas. Bearded (or German) irises aren't native to North America so it's less common to see them; this is the first I've come across them. Their petals are so full and beautiful.

I tried to look more observantly at decorative and art nouveau plant illustrations to try and understand what makes them so good, and to bring that knowledge into my work.

I'm really pleased with how this print captures the life and essence of this flower in such a beautiful composition.
